Easy Homemade Ice Cream Recipe : Strawberry

Strawberry is a classic ice cream flavor and for good reason – it’s absolutely delicious. Here’s another easy recipe that the kids love. It works best with fresh in-season strawberries.

Instructions
  1. Combine milk and cream and heat slowly in a saucepan until bubbles appear around the edge.
  2. In a separate bowl combine egg yolks and sugar to form a paste.
  3. Slowly add the warmed milk and in parts cream and whisk together to combine.
  4. Cook custard mixture over medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Don't let the mixture get over 167°F (75°C) or it will curdle.
  5. Hull the strawberries and puree in a food processor with the lemon juice.
  6. Press the pureed strawberries through a sieve into the cooked custard mixture.
  7. Allow mixture to cool in the fridge or an ice bath and then churn in ice cream maker.
Recipe Notes

I like to add some of the strawberry seeds from the sieve back to give the ice cream a bit of texture.
